Note: If you have the socketed version of the F2812 eZdsp board (DSP in a black socket), be sure to order option LR-F2812DAQ-5. These height extenders will be required to insure that the daughtercard does not interfere with the tall socket on the F2812 eZdsp board.

The Link Research model LR-F2812DAQA is a precision, 14-bit, data acquisition daughtercard designed to operate with the F2812 eZdsp™ development system from Spectrum Digital, Inc™. This product is not compatible with the F28335 eZdsp board. Please see our model LR-F28335DAQA for use with the F28335 eZdsp development system.

The daughtercard contains 4 (optionally 8) A/D channels, and 8 D/A channels. All channels have a full +/- 10V range, and are protected against transient voltage spikes. All A/D channels have the capability of being simultaneously sampled, whereas all the D/A channels can be updated simultaneously.

The daughtercard also includes miscellaneous peripherals, like 8 user digital inputs, 2 user red LEDs and an RS-232 port with a maximum baud rate of 921.2 kbps.

Several options are available for the daughtercard including a fiber optic serial port for galvanically isolated serial communications with the DSP, an Ethernet interface, and a 20x4 character LCD interface. The board ships with everything shown in "What's in the Box" below.

Model Number Description
LR-F2812DAQA This is the standard board containing 4 14-bit A/D Channels, 8 14-bit D/A channels, an RS-232 serial port, 2 general purpose LEDs, 8 general purpose input lines and includes everything shown in "What's in the Box" above.
LR-F2812DAQ-1 This is an option for the model LR-F2812DAQA which adds 4 additional 14-bit A/D channels. With this option installed, the board is capable of simultaneously sampling all 8 A/D channels. Note: This option must be ordered at the time of purchase of the model LR-F2812DAQA.
LR-F2812DAQ-2 This is an option for the model LR-F2812DAQA which adds a fiber optic serial port. This option results in a board containing both an RS-232 serial port and a fiber optic port. The desired port is selected with a jumper. The RS-232 port and the fiber optic port cannot be used simultaneously. This option must be ordered at the time of purchase of the model LR-F2812DAQA.
LR-F2812DAQ-3 This is an option for the model LR-F2812DAQA which adds Ethernet capability to the board. The board will include a Lantronix, Inc. XPort Device Server. Note: This option must be ordered at the time of purchase of the model LR-F2812DAQA. View typical application
LR-F2812DAQ-4 This option adds a Hitachi 44780 compatible LCD display interface and a 4 line x 20 character LCD display. Note: This option must be ordered at the time of purchase of the model LR-F2812DAQA, however, a kit is available which allows the user to purchase this option separately, to add to a previously purchased model LR-F2812DAQA. In this case please order model LR-DISPLAY.
LR-F2812DAQ-5 This option adds a set of height extender connectors. These extenders are only required if you have the socketed version of the F2812 eZdsp board. The bottom left picture (below) shows a socketed version of the F2812 eZdsp board, and our daughtercard mounted to it using the extenders.
LR-F2812DAQ-6 This option is equivalent to our model LR-F2812DAQA8x8. This is actually another daughtercard designed to work with the model LR-F2812DAQA providing 8 additional A/D channels and 8 additional D/A channels. It does not contain any of the other peripherals found on the the model LR-F2812DAQA. It is intended only to provide additional analog I/O channels. This option allows for a total of 16 A/D and 16 D/A channels.

The image above shows a typical laboratory setup with the model LR-F2812DAQA data acquisition daughtercard. The board is shown plugged into the F2812 eZdsp development system. A test program has been programmed into the eZdsp's FLASH memory, allowing the two board stackup to run stand-alone (i.e. without Code Composer Studio). The software generates eight +/- 10 Volt sinewaves, two of which are monitored with the oscilloscope. The two sinewaves shown are 120 degrees out of phase.

The above image shows the model LR-F2812DAQA daughtercard plugged into the F2812 eZdsp board. The configuration shown contains 4 A/D channels, and 8 D/A channels. If the daughtercard is ordered with the LR-F2812DAQ-1 option, then 8 A/D and 8 D/A channels will be included.

This is an edge view of the above left image. The bottom board is the F2812 eZdsp board.  The top board is the model LR-F2812DAQA, populated with 8 A/D and 8 D/A channels, along with other peripherals like an RS-232 serial port, 2 user LEDs, 8 digital inputs, etc.

The above image shows the model LR-F2812DAQA daughtercard plugged into a socketed version of the F2812 eZdsp board. To add additional height to the two board stackup, our model LR-DAQEXTSET4 height extenders are used. If you have the socketed version of the F2812 eZdsp board, be sure to order the height extenders to provide the necessary clearance for the tall DSP socket.
